Just Too Easy To Cry

drumkit - dan massey
bass guitar - mike fredrickson
organ - pat brennan
wurlitzer - k.c. mcdonough
electric guitar and vocal - robbie fulks
vocal - nora o'connor

Here's one that struck us all pretty positively on first playback, but simply got worse and worse the more it was worked on (which was plenty). I would definitely not buy this a la carte -- it's the true golden turkey of the fifty-song Doberman.

Lyrics

Trouble’s a story that won’t keep inside
And you've got a sadness that whiskey won’t hide
Happy ever after, there’s no guarantee
Life can be lonely if you let it be
So how can this cure be working
When he’s on the rebound and you’re here hurting
Baby, when they’re reading your last rites
That’s when living’s the sweetest revenge

CHORUS:
When hope’s sinking fast
And despair’s on the rise
Don’t stop fightin' back
It’s just too easy to cry
We won’t find love
If we never try, try, try
Let’s shake something up
It’s just too easy to cry

So who is this genius? And how does he explain
How he let a diamond slip off the chain?
Did she think she left you back-busted and down
Wouldn’t it tear them up, though
Just to look at us now?
So let’s raise one to each other
What loneliness loses, love can recover
We could dance your teardrops dry
Or we can stop them before they begin
