the west coast, that's the best coast
Hey California people! Those of you that haven't been obliterated by fires, taxes, free love, and poor governance -- I'm passing through this weekend, so please come see me if you can. McCabe's in Santa Monica Friday, Lobero in Santa Barbara Saturday, and Freight & Salvage in Oakland Sunday...a folk-Nazi trifecta. I imagine I'll be doing mostly Doberman songs. Lots of flatpick guitar on my mahogany custom-made Roy McAlister double-O. No "Fountains of Wayne," no "Fuck This Town," don't even ask. Hope to see you at the show.

The Freight's in Berkeley (and now a couple blocks down the street from where it was the last time). If you go to Oakland looking for it, you may be disappointed and/or shot.
Hello,
I cant wait to see you at Mcabes tonight...what exactly is Nazi-folk? I think I get Trifecta....

How about a little advance notice??? You're half-dead to me, Robbie.
I hope this doesn't mean you've finally retired the old Martin. I love that guitar!
How about an email, like, in my mailbox, that let's me know you're coming? Advance notice would be nice too, but hell....I would have been there with an hours notice, provided I was, um, notified.
BUMMED beyond belief to have just found out about this.
You can blame the lack of email on me, actually. I just haven't turned it on yet. It's a really cool feature, it'll email you if Robbie is playing within 50 miles of your location. Your location being whatever you put in when you joined the mailing list, so it's not my problem if you said you lived in Guam.
Um...John...maybe you should make it 100 miles. Or maybe 200 miles. It's not like Robbie gets anywhere near to close to most people on any sort of regular basis. Those folks who find themselves, after the fact, to have been over 51 miles away may be rather annoyed. I missed his show in Connecticut because of this.
I agree with Dan on the distance issue. If he's on the West Coast anywhere, I'd like to know so I can plan the road trip.
Other coast over here. In England. Lots of coast. How about coming here? Any chance? Saw RF in Austin in 2004 and would love to hear him here in London. Hook up with Bob Harris on radio 2, play at my school, have a pint? I'm buying...

Hi Robbie: You don't know me but your Dad and your Uncle certainly do. My Mother (Pearl) was your Grandmother Gertrude's sister. My Mother carried around an article from a newspaper about you. Barry is your Dad, is that correct? I haven't seen either Barry or Bobby since my Mother's funeral a few years ago. We always had such fun when we got together in York, Pa. when we were kids. I remember the store that Uncle Bob and Aunt Gert had in York. I'm sure your family is extremely proud of you and your successes. You come from good stock, you know! So much musical talent in our ancestory. What would the world be like without music? I think it would be horrible! My children (2 of them anyway) are musically inclined and several of my grandchildren are too. Maybe someday we can all get together and have a music fest!! That would be wonderful. Take care and continued success!!! Your cousin, Beverly Watters-Tall
Thanks John. Turn it on. Now.
I think I've signed up for Robbie's mailing list at least twice now and I've yet to see anything come of it. What's the whole point of the mailing list anyways? I also agree with broadening the range to at least 200 miles, as the drive to see him in Berkeley that night would have been about 100 for me, one way. And Robbie knows I'd drive at least three times that to see him play.
