correction!
This Monday night's scheduled benefit for NYC Players has been cancelled/postponed. Sorry to have jumped the gun on that. I know there's usually impatience and distress when I delay posting tour dates. I generally post when an entire month looks solid, rather than one date at a time, so that I don't forget to fill in holes later, and so that I'm not putting things up only to take down later. I think whatever inconvenience or inefficiency results from posting a chunk of dates about six weeks out, the confusion of changing information that I've posted -- which I would definitely have to do from time to time if I posted much farther out -- would be worse. In this case, though, posting 7 days out turned out to be too incautious. Oh well.
Hey, I'm still coming to New York, and still playing the Barbes on Tuesday. To the person who asked: reports of my playing in Kansas City next month are exaggerated. All right, false. There was a date in K.C. that got cancelled too, as it happens, and I guess some of the residue is still on the 'net, as the clam jiggers say.
The absolute worst kind of cancellation is when a promoter in Texas cancels a week out, and you are in California, slowly working your way to Texas, and the agency forgot to ask for a deposit...is this another boring, whining, on-the-road jeremiad from Old Uncle Robbie? You betcha! Pipe down, kiddies, I'll save that story for another lifetime.
Now back to Chapter 2 of "Fads and Fallacies In The Name of Science," and I hope to see you in Brooklyn next week.

I wouldn't worry about it too much Robbie. I've been going to your shows for around 12 years, now and have never planned to go to a show where you cancelled at the last minute or were a no-show.
I think the 'jiggers' are of squid.
Now there's a comment (above) that you just won't see anywhere else. You host a true oasis for the learned, sir.
