warning shot: end of year show

By Robbie on December 6, 2009

Our annual song-and-dance extravaganza happens this year at the nationally renowned nightclub Fitzgeralds in Berwyn, Illinois, on Saturday December 26. That's right, not 24 hours after you're done cleaning the gravy boats and dusting off Aunt Lucille's insensitive remarks, I'm asking you to come raise some hell with the band, Scott Ligon, a couple actors, and myself, as we thumb our noses at 2009's sociocultural highlights. You'll recall that this is really our New Year's show which we don't do on New Year's Eve anymore but instead on the last Saturday night of the old year, usually. That's how we got to this weird date, which, to be honest, worries me a little -- are people really up for going out and having fun on the 26th? We shall see. Those who make the trek to Berwyn will witness, in addition to the above-described, my new Rap of the Dead honoring those fallen this year, an audience participation game with a prize, and a whole lot of the usual hard-rocking country music.

Putting an mp3 of the "Rap of the Dead" on the web site wuld be a real treat for those of us much too far away to get to the 12/26 show.

Saw the show last year. Thought I was going to see the usual awesome Robbie show, but instead witnessed the funniest, current social commentary, and new music show I had seen EVER!
I can't believe how much work and effort went into it.
It's a shame only the lucky few who can fit into Fitzgeralds can see it, it needs to be put on TV, or at least a DVD to be enjoyed over and over.

No worries on people coming out to the show on 12/26. Family togetherness will will drive people out of the house and to the show.
Will this years show feature sausage links?
You had to be at the 08 show to understand.

We're making the 2 1/2 hour drive from Wisconsin (and staying in a seedy hotel) to see this!

Let me try to finish without screwing this up again, talent.
Let me try to finish without screwing this up again, Fitzgerald’s was the forth time I have had the pleasure to enjoy the music of Mr. Fulks and the talented individuals he has play with him. This show was Second City with music. One of the most hilarious skits I have ever seen and the Rap of the Dead was unbelievable. Brought my 2 sons (24 and 27) who were skeptical of this "country music guy" but now think that maybe I do know a little about real musical talent. What a great evening!
